UK TWO POUND COIN

Designed on an iPad: the final version finished in a West Australian bushcamp.

An Underground commemorative two pound coin for 2013. The design pays homage to the 1938 poster by Man Ray that sent Edward Johnson’s familiar 1920 bulls-eye logo into orbit.

Designed on an iPad, the final work was configured camped in the Pilbara region of North Western Australia using a Power Monkey solar charger. It is one of a pair of coins that celebrate 150 years of the first underground in London. The design by Edward Barber and Jay Ogesby features an underground train, tracks and a route - launched in the year that their Olympic torches were carried throughout the UK.
